Jason Priestley, star of the iconic hit television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and one of the biggest teen idols of the 1990s, chronicles the highs and lows of his life and career in this charming and honest memoir.
The hit Fox show Beverly Hills, 90210 became a cultural touchstone of the 1990s and propelled its young cast to mega-stardom, including Jason Priestley, who played honorable Midwestern transplant Brandon Walsh. Yet despite more than twenty years in and out of the limelight, Priestley has carefully maintained his privacy. In this compelling memoir, the actor, director, and race-car aficionado invites us into his private world for the first time.
With humor, sincerity, and charm, Priestley offers little-known details about his life and stories of his nine years in America’s most famous zip code. He talks candidly about celebrity, marriage, fatherhood, and his passion for car racing. He does not shy away from the devastating lows—his brief jail sentence for drunk driving and the crash at the Kentucky Speedway that nearly took his life. Priestley shares his innermost thoughts about life as a ’90s icon, and goes beyond the Brandon Walsh squeaky-clean image, revealing the tumultuous events that have shaped him, and where he finds his greatest happiness today.

Where were you when you discovered life in America's favorite zip code?
For nine years, Jason Priestley was Brandon Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210, the popular hit that skyrocketed an unprepared Priestley to fame and made him the defining face of an era. But Priestley's private life was even more compelling than the character he played on TV. Now, he tells it all—his time on the set of 90210, his brief stint in prison, and, ultimately, his happy marriage and fatherhood.
In Jason Priestley: A Memoir, Priestley tells about his life as a young, unknown working actor sharing an apartment with Brad Pitt, learning the ropes from Johnny Depp, being scolded by Sam Elliott, and being challenged by Shannen Doherty. Always candid, yet never mean-spirited, Priestley talks with wit and humor about his roller-coaster years before, during, and after living in America's most famous zip code.

Couldn't put it down
By KST2005
Just purchased this book today and I just finished reading it. It was such a good read and I couldn't put it down.
If your wanting to read this for the juicy gossip of 90210 then I don't recommend it because even though he does talk about 90210 and the other actors and actresses but says nothing negative or ugly and only speaks the truth about the relationships he had with them and any other actor he has worked with in his career. He also talks more though about his love life, his racing career, and what it's really like trying to make it as an actor. It was all though very well written and tasteful and I have to say after reading that I have a new found likeness for Jason Priestly..the way he talks about the people that have come in and out of his life, his wife and his children is just so genuine and kind. The outlook he now has on life after his racing accident is inspirational. I love reading but if it doesn't get my attention in the first two chapters I won't finish reading it but he did an awesome job to make u just want to keep on reading.
I highly recommend this book!!! Two thumbs up :)

Aren't some pieces missing?
By Mats A.
Yes like most girls who graduated high school in the early 90s I was gaga over him and the show of course. I was really looking forwards to some insight about the era. Didn't really get any. Is there a way to gossip while at the same time not talking s***? I wanted some more behind the scenes info.
Anyways, here's what else I wished was included:
1- like another reviewer mentioned, wasn't he married a woman named Ashley in the late 90s? Why no mention of being a stepfather, even if it was for only a year or so. Weird to cut a wife and kid out a memoir.
2- Page 46 states he was playing a 15 year in 1990 when show started. NOT! I'm confused still 20-plus years later. Weren't they 11th grade 16 year olds driving around from day one and then for some reason, they ended up three years in high school, class of '93. Why the weird time frame? An explanation please.
Liked reading the stories, especially about how Brad (esp. the bible part), Johnny, and Tiffani were as nice as it gets. Shows kindness keeps ones career alive.

Quick and Entertaining Memoir
By Suzanne Church
When I read, I usually take my time with a book, savoring the plot a chapter at a time.
While browsing in the bookstore today, I found a chair and sat down intending to read a page or two, the first chapter at most of "Jason Priestly: A Memoir".
Then I finished the book.
It's compelling, easy to read, clear, heartfelt, and honest.
If you've followed Priestly's acting, producing, directing, or racing career, you'll enjoy this memoir.
